When thinking about ways in which the leaflet could be folded to create an interesting design in which the consumer would find interesting, i thought the more complicated and extravagant the fold is the more appealing it would look.
I looked at many different ways in which i could fold a leaflet as i wanted to create a leaflet that not only looked good but would also be easy to flick though and had enough space to present information on. The target audience i have identified that i wanted to create a leaflet for is students of the age 12+. it is important that the leaflet fold is not over complicated as i still want it to be able to take its space once it is read so that it can be folded back easily.
After undertaking wide range of research i realised that the shape of the leaflet is depended on the context that is presents and also the amount of information, thins made me consider the amount of information that i would include on my leaflet as the content as just as important to informing
the fold. Due to deciding this i considered the fact that different fold create different meanings and influences. For example A simple one fold leaflet would be used if the information for short but important as it get the point across quick and efficiently, another example is that a french fold would be used for things that have a large amount of information as the inside has a large space, that is perfect for imagery and also maps.
The next stages of design will be to look more into the meaning and uses of different fold so that i use an appropriate fold for my design.
