Studio Brief 2 hesitant type

When trying to find examples of hesitant type to inspire me and give me a starting point there were limited results.

This is one of the examples of type that came up when researching hesitant type. It is a typeface that is called hesitant. The typeface is sans serif with think strokes. The centre of letters that is usually circular is square, this creates a playful feel as it is different to usual letter design. The type has very short defenders which makes the letters small in size. I think this style of typefaces would be used for cartoons or publication aimed at children as the style of typeface is very playful and doesn't look very sophisticated. Overall the look of this type doesn't represent 'hesitant' very well as it looks more playful than anything else, because of its bold strokes and changing angles of the letterforms.

Above is another example of hesitant type, the further alway the letters are the smaller they are, this could be considered as hesitant as the smaller letters further away are a lot more reluctant to seen, possibly shy. This concept could be applied to my typeface by varying the letter size so some appear more 'shy' than others.
