deciding a fold

After decided that i wanted to create a leaflet for drink aware i thought it was important to get the fold right as i wanted the fold to reflect the content and well as get the attention of the target audience of students at risk and all students through freshers as that can be were the start of binge drinking coming from.

Below are a select few leaflets and folds that i found interesting when researching different folds:

i found this fold very interesting as it is very compact when folded and looks very simplistic with limited information when she unfolded that information also unfolds to revel a large amount of information that was cleverly layout. I like the fold on this leaflet as at first you were not overwhelmed with information there was just a title introducing what was on the inside, this would work well with the student drink aware topic as some of the points i want to make will be hard hitting and i do not want to overwhelm the audience straight away and put them off from reading on.

I found this leaflet fold interesting as it would appropriate to display my facts and information as i could gradually make them hard hitting the further you get across the page, this fold also allows for information to easily flow across one or more pages.

 

This leaflet is a simple fold with a added interesting cut out, this creates more interest and add a very successful effect to the look of the leaflet. This would not work as well for my information as there isn't much flow to the leaflet or separation which i would like to separate each part of my leaflet.

This leaflet design i found to be the most appropriate fold as the leaflet had its separated sections but when each side was unfolded the information flowed well and could carry on from each point. The rounded edges added interest and softened the look of the leaflet compared to square sides, this would work well for my leaflet as i do not want the fold to look too harsh or complicated as this may put people off reading the information, Because of these point i think this is the most appropriate fold for my information leaflet.
