book aesthetics

type - baskerville as the main typeface and helvetica as the serif typeface

colours -
when thinking about colours for my book i wanted to keep them to a minimal as i wanted the book to come alive the most the audience used to by colouring in and working through it, because of this i intend to stick to a limited pallet of colours. When considering what colours to use i thought that the use of red, yellow and blue would make a nice tie to education with them being the primary colours that you learn which very young, i also thought it would tie in with the anatomy of type as the terms they are learning in the book as what makes up a letter and these three colours and the main colours that make up every other colour, because of these link i decided that this was a very appropriate colour scheme. To contrast with the three primary colour i decided that i would contrast them with a clean with page and black text. I choose to have my text black as it will also contrast with the white page and help the information stand out.

binding-
from my binding research i have decided that i am going to bind my book using signature binding method with a hard cover. i decided this because i found it was the most appropriate method for binding as it is strong, the hard cover is the most effective way of protecting the pages and also this method of binding allows the book to be laid flat which allows easy when reading.

content -
the content of the book will be:
introduction
anatomy of type
colouring
classification
