collection of content

Above are four websites that were really helpful when it came to collating the needed content for the anatomy of type. Although i already had an understanding of anatomy of type it was important that my content was accurate as i did not want to give false information. All the content that i collected were from these websites which i summarised in my own words.

Cross bar - the horizontal stroke in letters.
stroke - a straight or curved diagonal line.
serif - a stroke addad as a stop to the beginning and end of the main strokes of a character.
Apeture - the partially enclosed, rounded negative space in some characters.
Counter - the open space in a fully or partly closed area within a letter.
Ascenders - an vertical stroke found on the part of the lowercase letters that extends above the typefaces x -height
bowl - the fully closed, rounded part of a letter.
Arm - a horizontal stroke that does not connect to a stroke or stem on one or both ends.
Descenders - the part of the letters that extends below the baseline
stem - vertical, full-length stroke in upright characters
cross bar - a horizontal stroke that intersects the stem of the lowercase t or f.
